Ki (also spelled Kee, Kye and Key) is a monastery and village in Eastern Himachal Pradesh.
There's only one road leading here, from Kibber. Buses make the steep slow journey a couple times a day.
Cyclists with legs of steel can (and do) make the climb.
Ki Monastery. If you're lucky enough to be invited to prayers in the morning, be very quiet and respectful, and leave your camera in your room. Expect to try butter tea, if you haven't already... and if you have, suck it up and pretend you like it.
There are no hotels or restaurants in town, so those wanting to stay the night have but one option:
The Ki Monastery is willing to host foreigners in simple 4-person dorm rooms for a small fee, and will also provide basic meals (dal, rice) and tsampa. This can be a great experience and insight into the lives of monks. While it sees its fair share of tourists trickling through, this is definitely not a tourist attraction, and should not be treated like one. If you visit, and especially if you stay the night, remain aware of where you are, and stay quiet and courteous.
Redirect to:KIThis page is a redirect. The following categories are used to track and monitor this redirect: From other capitalisation: This is a redirect from a title with another method of capitalisation. It leads to the title in accordance with the Wikipedia naming conventions for capitalisation, or it leads to a title that is associated in some way with the conventional capitalisation of this redirect title. This may help writing, searching and international language issues. If this redirect is an incorrect capitalisation, then {{R from miscapitalisation}} should be used instead, and pages that use this link should be updated to link directly to the target. Miscapitalisations can be tagged in any namespace. Use this rcat to tag only mainspace redirects; when other capitalisations are in other namespaces, use {{R from modification}} instead. From an ambiguous term: This is a redirect from an ambiguous page name to a page or list that disambiguates it. These redirects are pointed to by links that should always be disambiguated. Therefore, this template should never appear on a page that has "(disambiguation)" in its title – in that case use {{R to disambiguation page}} instead. When appropriate, protection levels are automatically sensed, described and categorized.
